Running has been teaching me something I keep seeing in engineering too.
You do not get stronger from one heroic day.
You get stronger from repeating the simple things long enough for them to compound.
The same thing shows up in cloud work.
A team does not become secure because someone runs one big review before an audit. It becomes more secure when the small checks become normal.
Logging.
Access reviews.
Backups.
Patch windows.
Cost checks.
Documentation that someone can actually read.
None of these feel exciting on their own. But when they are ignored for long enough, they become the reason things break.
Running reminds me that consistency is not glamorous. It is still the thing that works.
